SAC Outstanding Service Award:  2021

Joan Martin

Congratulations, Joan, on being recognized as the 2021 Outstanding Service Award recipient by the Samoyed Association of Canada!

Joan has had Samoyeds for 23 years and been a [SAC] member since 2004.  Joan’s dogs have participated in conformation and in herding. Joan has also trained her dogs in agility, and has enjoyed ski-joring with her dogs in Winter.

Joan has contributed many hours of her time co-editing SAC’s newsletter, Sammy News, and getting it ready for publication.  Joan has created many ads for members using her talents.

Joan has contributed her artwork to SAC over the years including creating logos for several nationals. The artwork that Joan has given to SAC in a number of forms, including the creation of Christmas cards as a Club fund raiser, has been appreciated by many people.

Joan has been involved with several SAC National Specialties held in BC, helping out by making prizes, coordinating auctions, and always being there to help wherever it was needed.

Joan has also helped out with numerous rescue situations on the Lower Mainland in the past.
